Onome Jackson, Kaduna.
There are more than one indication that Dangote Graduate Drivers Trainee currently in Nigeria Institute Transport Technology (NITT), Basawa, Zaria in Kaduna State are getting far below what they believe ought to be.
So far no penny has been given, no medical allowance/treatment and the food given are nothing to write about, indeed very substandard.
The Ninety-eight graduates trainee younewsng1 gathered are disappointed by the whole scenario, especially with constant unfulfilled promises from their coordinator: Dr Ojekunle and head of training Mr Jemirin.
It is believe that the allocation meant for the trainee may have been diverted by the Managers.
The class governor, Mr Henry Pender, we gathered is not happy with the condition, and he had mentioned the feelings of the class to the management to no avail.
The
Dangote graduate driver training scheme slated for Nigerian Institute of
Transport Technology (NITT) Zaria Kaduna state Nigeria; commenced on the 31th,
October 2012 and is billed to end on the 31th of January, 2013. The 90 day
training program had a compulsory 10 day break period between 21th, December
and 2nd of January
2013.
Participants
for the training program trouped in from all corners of the country with high
expectation amidst the abysmal low security level that exist in the
state.
The
serenity and awe-inspiring atmosphere of the institute ushered in trainees, and
even the most pessimistic participant was convinced of a bumper package. Alas!
Subsequent scenarios that ensued is a far cry of initial impressions
participants had.
Up
till now, participant of this training scheme have not received a dime in terms
of allowances(transportation) and stipend after series of promises from some
principal officers from the Dangote group affiliated
to the program. Participants don’t even believe that that the Dangote group as
an organization with the way they have been conducting themselves have a well
articulated blue print of a work flow process of absorption into the group.
Unverifiable
information sources have it that we have unscrupulous officials (cabal) in the
Dangote group circumventing funds and other ancillary benefits accruable to
trainees.
I
was working as a sales manager in a particular firm before enrolling in this
scheme. I have three sons and they have just resumed school for the new
academic session without their fees paid. I am practically stranded here in
Zaria now after borrowing funds to travel home during the festive period due to
compulsory vacation from the training institute by the institutions management
in consort with Dangote group.
This is just an epitome of the ordeal being
faced by an average participant participating in this scheme. One of the
Trainee interviewed said: “Our humble plea is for you to help us investigate
and communicate our ordeal to the head of the Dangote group, because we are
convinced that Dangote meant well for us, but he is not privy to our plight. No
medical treatment even wrong feeding.we need help.”
